Registering Private Name Servers

I you want to use a Name Server that is also part of your domain name, then you need to register a Private Name Server.

For example, if your domain name is mydomain.com.ng then probable private name servers could be

ns1.mydomain.com.ng and ns2.mydomain.com.ng

Usually, Name Servers must have corresponding IP addresses for you to register them. Please get the IP address that you will use for the Name server, ready.

Follow the steps below.

  1. Login to your Account from https://services.skannet.com.ng
  2. Click on My Domains
  3. Right in front of your domain, click on the Tools icon
  4. Select "Manage Name Servers"
  5. From the left panel, choose "Private Name Servers"
  6. Under "Register a Name Server Name", click save changes
  7. From the left panel, choose "Name Servers"
  8. Enter the new Name Servers
  9. Click on SAVE 

You are done! It may take up to 24 hours for your new Name to become fully active.
